A while back, someone asked me how you can digitise one off zines? I’m so sorry, I can’t remember who asked me but I thought I’d make a post about it..
There are a couple of different options:
Option 1 – Take photos of every page, you could then make a zine with those photos. You could lay the zine flat on white paper or coloured paper. You could also consider positioning it against a suitable backdrop. For example, if your zine features flowers, showcasing it against a beautiful garden would be ideal.
Option 2 – If you’re able to lay it flat, you can scan each page individually. This would allow you to recreate or reprint it however you want. Also, you’ll have the option to edit the scans later as needed.
Option 3 – Same as above, if you have an iPhone, you can quickly scan each individual page. I’ve taken a screenshot of the instructions from the Apple website and uploaded that below.
